Explore Your Product’s Journey:
Carbon was born in the stars, and is the basis for life on Earth. The process to make your product started by diverting carbon from greenhouse gas that would otherwise become part of the air. This is when that capture process started.
Through 10 years of research, we found microorganisms from the ocean that use carbon from methane and carbon dioxide dissolved in saltwater to grow a beautiful material inside of their cells that we call AirCarbon. This is when they grew the AirCarbon in the product you are holding right now.
Once grown, the AirCarbon in your product was purified through filtration and then dried into a fine white powder: a certified carbon-negative material. This is when that drying process was completed.
After turning it into a powder, we combined AirCarbon with carefully selected materials to create a carbon-negative bonded ply (what we call AirCarbon Leather™) that can be cut and stitched like leather; this is when our AirCarbon Leather was created at our headquarters in Southern California.
Once your AirCarbon Leather was formed, expert artisans in California cut, stitched, and hand-assembled it into the product you are holding now; this is when we used environmentally friendly UV printing to apply your product’s unique Carbon Date mark.
This is the moment your product arrived at our regional stockroom, ready to be delivered to you and continue its journey.
The carbon footprint of the process used to make your product was audited by a third party carbon accounting firm, so that you know the exact carbon impact of your product when it ships to you. If you ever decide to part ways with it, return it to us and we will transform it into something new, helping to ensure that its carbon remains sequestered.
